Mushroom & Shallot Sauce
Mushroom & Shallot Sauce is the sauce of your dreams! This paleo and Whole30 compatible version is ridiculously easy yet so rich and makes a dramatic statement on your protein of choice! I served over roasted pork loin but it would be amazing on steak, chicken or even mashed potatoes! Thanks to @pennysprimal for bringing us this mouth-watering sauce!
- 10 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 5 large shallots, sliced
- 2 heaping tbsp ghee, @fourthandheart
- 16.9 oz chicken bone broth, @kettleandfire
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
1 Tbsp arrowroot powder
2 Tbsp cold water
- fresh thyme sprigs
Mix arrowroot powder with 2 Tbsp cold water to form a slurry. Set aside.
Heat ghee in a skillet on medium heat until melted.
Add shallots, mushrooms, salt, pepper, and garlic to skillet. Add bone broth and top with fresh thyme sprigs. Add in arrowroot slurry and cook several minutes, stirring frequently until sauce thickens.
Serve on top of pork, chicken, or steak.
